Between 13-25th October 2021, AEJ intern Maya Szaniecki conducted interviews with four journalists: Zoltan Gyevai, Tomasz Bielecki, Kateřina Šafaříková and Martin Hílek, each from a different Viségrad country. Their discussions surrounded the topics of press freedom and democracy, particularly within the Viségrad countries themselves. Read on to find out more about which of these Eastern European countries are heading towards a more pluralist and open media, and which are still grappling with censorship, persecution, and a lack of editorial independence.
