ALL SPEAKERS CONFIRMED!

Dear Ladies, Dear Gentlemen, Dear Colleagues,

The German Broadband Association (BREKO) and the Association of European Journalists (AEJ) cordially invite you to our networking cocktail:

Europe on its way towards a Gigabit Society? Not without Fibre!

on 4th July 2019 at 5.45 pm at Holland House (Aarlenstraat 20, B-1050 Brussels)

During this event we will highlight the importance of high-speed fibre networks for a modern and sustainable digital economy and a European Gigabit Society. After the European elections in May 2019, the Gigabit Society will continue to play a crucial role for European decision-makers from EU institutions, European businesses, civil society and the media. BREKO would like to make sure that all parts of the puzzle, from future-proof infrastructure to sophisticated digital services, are considered in decisions on policies and business activities. Fast fibre networks are essential for 5G.

The Belgian section of the Association of European Journalists (www.aej-belgium.eu), always interested in hearing all sides of any subject, will co-host a discussion with BREKO as part of their Tech Talk series. Is 5G set to be a network for everything? It is maybe premature to consider 5G as a replacement of existing technologies in use. We can reasonably consider the implementation of 5G as a major change to the way we interact both at work and in our private lives. Media and journalists are among the first to be concerned. It is thus quite important, also for our members, that the technology is understandable. How governments and private actors communicate on getting 5G in place is key, for Europe and for our future as European Communities.
